Smart New Homes wanted to associate their brand with the World Cup 2010 through an online football game. Our parent agency Jaywing designed a built an addictive goal-saving football game called Smart Soccer – www.smartsoccer.co.uk – which Viralnet was then tasked to drive traffic to.
The key objectives were to drive large volumes of traffic to the game in order to drive awareness of the brand as well as traffic to the site.
Using a combination of a PR launch to the wider gaming community and placements on some key premium gaming portals, the game was quickly picked up and spread rapidly from there.
Within 1 month of launch the game exceeded 1 million plays of which 10% was directed to the Smart New Homes site – one day saw a 63% increase in site traffic alone.
